    Numetrics Management Team

Mr. Ronald E. Collett, President and CEO
Mr. Yee Gan, Vice President of Engineering
Mr. Steve Gary, Vice President of Professional Services & Product Marketing
Mr. Alex Silbey, Vice President of Client Engagements

Mr. Ronald E. Collett, President and CEO, has spent more than 25 years in the electronics industry, where he has held positions in executive management, engineering, marketing and sales. He founded Collett International, Inc. in 1992, a research and consulting company specializing in design technology strategy for semiconductor and electronic design automation (EDA) companies. He also spent several years at the Dataquest division of the Gartner Group, a technology research and consulting firm, where he oversaw the firm’s activities in the areas EDA, application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) and field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).

Mr. Collett is recognized as the first to identify and call the industry’s attention to the now well-known “design productivity gap.” He has published more than 100 articles on the design of integrated circuits (ICs) and electronic systems in publications including Electronic Engineering Times, Fabless Forum, Electronic System Design, Nikkei Asia Electronics, Nikkei Electronics and Nikkei Micro Devices. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Drexel University and a degree in law from Santa Clara University. He is member of the California Bar.

Mr. Yee Gan, Vice President of Engineering, has more than 15 years of management experience in several Silicon Valley startups as well as Sun Microsystems and Oracle. Mr. Gan has a track record of leading high-performance engineering teams and delivering world-class products across several industries, including pharmaceuticals and financial industries. At Sun, he held various roles including product strategy, product management and engineering leadership. He spearheaded the standardization of portal servers by initiating the Java portlet specification.

Previously, Mr. Gan was software architect at NetDynamics, a silicon valley startup (which Sun acquired in 1998) that pioneered Java application servers. Mr. Gan earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering with highest honors from University of Texas at Arlington, and he holds a master’s degree in computer science from Georgia Institute of Technology. He also has a joint MBA from University of California, Berkeley, and Columbia University.

Mr. Steven Gary, Vice President of Professional Services & Product Marketing, has more than 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, including IC design and engineering management positions. Prior to joining Numetrics, Mr. Gary managed 3G wireless development programs at Infineon Technologies. Previously, he was vice president of design technology at Zilog, director of marketing at Oak Technology, and design engineering manager for networking and PC products at Advanced Micro Devices. He studied engineering mechanics at the University of Wisconsin, and holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and industrial technology from San Jose State University, where he also did graduate work in electrical engineering.

Mr. Alex Silbey, Vice President of Client Engagements, has over 25 years of experience in electronic product development (software, hardware, systems), development processes, business development and sales. Alex is responsible for client engagements, deployment strategy, methodology and Numetrics consulting services at leading-edge electronics and semiconductor companies.
Prior to joining Numetrics, Alex served in key roles at Silicon Graphics/SGI, including leading the Central Engineering and design methodology teams. At SGI, he invented a methodology to develop and deliver the industry’s very first multi-million-gate ICs. Prior to SGI, Alex held senior R&D positions at Supercomputer Systems, which developed the fastest supercomputer in the world. He also worked Gould Electronics, where he codesigned the world’s fastest minicomputer.

Alex has been awarded 14 patents in the areas of computers and networking. He’s spoken at numerous industry conferences and has co-authored two textbooks and several research articles.
Alex is a graduate of Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana with an MS degree in Electrical Engineering and two BS degrees in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
